Getting a business coach was the best thing we did for our business

Jeff’s business is successful by anyone’s estimation, but he had reached a point where he wanted things to change. The business is a strong and profitable one but making it so has entailed long hours and lots of responsibility that Jeff didn’t want to the same extent any more. He decided that PlanningCLUB was the perfect opportunity to take some time out to concentrate on where he and the business were going next. PlanningCLUB would involve pre-workshop prep, two days of coach led business planning and the creation of action plans to keep Jeff on track whilst moving forward.

“I am quite cynical about things like business coaching by nature, and I didn’t really know what to expect from it. I’m really pleased I did it though, because it was incredibly useful.
We often know what we need to do in our businesses, but there’s a big difference between knowing it and doing it. PlanningCLUB gave me the time and mental space to sort some things out in my own head and move forward to a point where I could make decisions that, frankly, should have been made a long time ago. It was an interesting journey.
I’ve got more time to focus on creating the business model
The outcome I wanted was never specifically about the money, it was about time. I just never had enough of it. As a result of the work we did on PlanningCLUB, I made and implemented some decisions that have already resulted in me having more time to focus on creating the business model that will ultimately allow me to retire and maintain an income from the business as it moves forward. As part of that we are implementing processes and procedures, which should really have already been in place, and which will enable others to own and understand critical business functions, relieving me of those pressures.
My quality of life has improved
Whilst my teams have always had some responsibility for winning their own work and Client management, I have always felt responsible for finding work and Clients for them, so their incomes were protected. The stress of this has been a big weight on me. Through PlanningCLUB I’ve been able to achieve a mind-shift. I now give my teams everything they need to win work, but I’ve accepted my guys are responsible for hitting their targets, not me. My quality of life has improved because I’m not carrying the stress of that responsibility around with me to anything like the same extent I was.
It’s been a different process to anything I’ve ever been through before, but it’s got me to a point where I’m so much more confident about retiring and keeping the standard of living I have now throughout my retirement.
